With family roots in the Bronx, NY, Paul Di Dio was exposed to a diverse array of music at a young age. Growing up, Paul was constantly hearing different types of music. His father Joseph Di Dio was a multi-instrumentalist who turned his son on to rock 'n roll and blues by playing old Johnny Winter and Chuck Berry records. Paul always wanted to play guitar, but was not able to obtain one until the age of 18. Before that, his interest in early hip-hop sparked a writing flame that has not burned out still to this day, allowing him to compile a mountain of lyrics and songs. His favorite artists include Led Zeppelin, Muddy Waters, Otis Redding, ONYX, Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers Band, Albert King, Freddie King, Little Sammy Davis and Midnight Slim, the Lost Boyz and Buddy Guy (just to name a few). In years to come, Paul's fusion of sounds coming from his life's soundtrack allowed him to extend his creative hand to reach almost all areas of the musical spectrum. He became an expressive guitar player with a grainy blues driven voice in just a short period of time. Combining genres, ranging from 50's Doo-wop to rap to straight-forward rock 'n roll, allowed Paul to express himself in many ways that he was unable to in other areas of life. His whole sound, in collaboration with the 2 Bit Jive machine, has a raw, unorthodox approach and delivery with heavy emotional overtones. To put it lightly: Witnessing the Jive is an experience!
